Lily was an entertaining dog, always looking for mischief. If she wasn't "counter-surfing" for a forbidden treat, she was looking for something new to chew - her favorite was the remote control for the television.
However, Lily had a serious side and had made it her mission in life to care for and protect her "person" Janet, who has early onset Alzheimer's disease. They were featured in The Coloradoan Newspaper in Fort Collins Colorado. Bernese Mountain Dogs are naturals as Therapy Dogs and enjoy their responsibilities and carry them out with loving devotion.
Update: Sadly Janet, Lily's favorite human, passed away from her disease.
Rest in Peace Janet. We miss you.
Lacey was one of our first females. Lacey is Lily's mother.
UPDATE January 22, 2014:
We are very sad to say that both Lacey and Lily went over the "Rainbow Bridge" today together. Lacey, being elderly, died of congestive heart failure. Lily was diagnosed with renal failure of unknown cause.
We already miss them dearly.
Thank you Lacey and Lily for many years of love and companionship. You were the BEST!
Annie is 11 years old and enjoying her retirement. She loves to trot along with her adoptive mom on her bike rides.
Annie passed away in 2016. She was over 10 years old.
Okie was our first Berner and, although small, had given us many beautiful puppies. She spent her retirement (at the ripe age of 12) with her adoptive family near Evergreen Colorado and enjoyed hiking on Floyd Hill.
